Ahem. Australian 18-year-old Rob Woodhouse won bronze at the ’84 LA Olympics

ben Jesse

Didn’t Rob Woodhouse earn a bronze medal for Australia in 1984?

John, an Australian man has actually won 400 IM olympics medal:

Rob Woodhouse won 400 IM bronze in 1984c Los Angeles.

Coincidentally, Rob Woodhouse is the uncle of David McKeon and Emma McKeon.

But yes, no Australian man has ever won 400 IM worlds medal

Lochte will win 200 IM no doubt

John Lohn

Thanks for the correction. Story has been updated to reflect.

I wonder how it will affect Phelps being in the stands WATCHING the 200 fly and 200 IM races. He isn’t going to sit there undisturbed by the competition. I bet he will secretly desire to be in there!

Mike in Dallas

Tyler Clary has SO MUCH grit when it comes to the IM, I think he will absolutely be at the wall when he needs to be. He does not have the DNA of Phelps or the ‘personality flash’ of Lochte, but Clary is an absolute MACHINE when it comes to getting the job done — and getting your hand on the wall. Clary will be there for the USA!

Rafael

Pereira.. did not actuallu dropped 100% of 400 IM.. he did not take his name off.. his coach said that he will talk to him and only make the decision to take the name out will be after the 200 IM

I think you are right, Mike in Dallas. Fully rested and ready, Clary will be TOUGH. But can he beat the Japanese? Hard to say.
