Aquatics sports sweep the board at the 2013 Hungarian Sports Awards. The might of Magyar from the 2013 FINA World Championships in Barcelona dominated the achievements across all sports, with World Champions Katinka Hosszu and Daniel Gyurta claiming the top athlete honours and Hosszu’s coach and husband Shane Tusup making history as the first overseas coach to win mentor of the year since 1958

Water sports is truly honoured in Hungary. I’m pleased that Hungary hosts the 2021 edition of the World Champs.

And rightly so.

Their swimmers has won a total of 66 Olympics medals for Hungary, only second to Fencing with 83 medals (who knew???? How many classes/classifications are there in fencing???)
