A very nice piece of writing which contains a couple of interesting revelations. I love her sensible attitude towards prize money.

Eindhoven and Berlin were fast meets that’s for sure – thanks to timing of them immediately after the World Championships. I hope this doesn’t have its effect on expectations of a World Cup. The World Cup is a place for racing. Elite swimmers need to realize that a big audience doesn’t see the difference if you swim your 200 metres a couple of seconds slower, whereas intense competition for podium places won’t go unnoticed.

I hope many swimmers would attend, even though they were in serious training as the others are likely as well and it leads to tight racing.

It is great to see her blossom this way . . . I noticed her at the Grand Prix meets in the US, swimming many events at each, obviously in training … than after taper BANG . . . like she was shot from a canon!
