Holly Barratt Leads Upset Of Week; Golden Moments, Too, For Hirai, Koptelov, Pebley

Holly Barratt had a fine week of winning and podium placing at the Universiade back in 2015 but it would be 2017 at age 29 before she claimed a Gold Cap as an official Dolphin

Not easy to steal the limelight on an evening at the Universiade when Ayatsugu Hirai joins the sub-15 club over 30 laps with a 14:56.10 victory and Evgeny Koptelov takes the butterfly double with a 51.50 win over 100m butterfly – both those efforts up to third in the world so far this year – and Jacob Pebley goes world top 4 over 200m backstroke. But if anyone stole their thunder it was Holly Barratt.

I didn’t know that Holly Barratt is actually sister of Bronte Barratt.

She’s not aswimfan, sorry if you got that impression (sister in swimming)

Jordan Harrison not swimming anywhere close to his PBs when those times would have won him gold medals here

Harrison’s career is either down the plug or he hasn’t prepared whatsoever for this meet. My feeling is it’s the first….he will never get close to Mack again, and now looks to be an afterthought at Miami behind Hackett & TFH. So far the great Hackett comeback seems to have been detrimental to the other big names in that club.
