So, Agnel has also the 2nd fastest 800 free short course? time Wow. Speaking of talent across several distances, he is a 47” in the 100 free, a 1.43” in the 200, a 3.43” in the 400 (long course) and this …

Luigi,

But Agnel swam those times in different seasons (except for 100 and 200). In 2011, when he focused on 400, his 200 suffered badly. And in 2012 when he focused on 100-200, his 400 was non existent. In some ways, Ryk Neethling was the same.

Agnel is not like Thorpe or even Tae Hwan* who can swim crazy times across 4 distances in the same meet.

I see what you mean. But I am still impressed. Let’s hope he gets back to form by next year.

In 2011…He was recovering from illness in Shangai so we don’t know what would have been his 200. And his 400 and 800 short course best was swum in 2012 (winter time) a few month after London where he was so fast on 100 (remenber his 46.75 split in the relay) and on 200 (1.43).
But of course he is not Thorpe!

…were swum…

No, no-one else is Thorpe, Pierre – but Agnel is bloody good “:) as we know – long-course range = 22.78; 47.84; 1:43.14; 3:43.85; 15:07.76.
