Political rivals of Coaracy Nunes, the FINA Bureau member from Brazil legally removed from his post as president of the Brazilian swimming federation, are campaigning to replace him after 28 years in the post. Nunes is under investigation for an alleged role in fraud said to have been committed in a bid process for buying sports equipment for aquatic events at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the Brazilian media has reported. He and four others have been removed from office under court order.
