Elizabeth Beisel - head start - by Patrick B. Kraemer

With all the talk of supplements and much worse flying about in sport these days, refreshing to hear the effervescent Elizabeth Beisel talk about one of the legs on which the longevity of a world-class swimming career stand: milk.

In the small town where I live there are also some automatic “tin-cows”. The real whole milk is healthy for us, good for dairy-farmers and I think Riska (our Daisy) is also proud of herself.

I like milk, but unfortunately it’s so incompatible with most of other food. I need to drink it at least few hours after the last meal and few hours before the next one to avoid digestion problems 🙁

What a shame, Eugene. I can drink it any time (goes well with many foods, I find), no issue.

As an admittedly VERY biased former age-group coach for Attleboro Bluefish Swim Team, where Elizabeth Beisel trained as a young girl, I’m hoping to see her swim a new US Record time in the 400 IM in the Rio final and win another medal for her trophy case! I’d also love to see her make the US Team in the 200 backstroke and 800 free relay, but both of those spots will be tough, so I wish Elizabeth luck at US OT. Finally, I hope that Laura Sogar, another ABF alum (who swam for Texas in college), swims a best time in the 200 breastroke in finals at US OT and makes the team. GO BLUEFISH! 🙂
