Denied now driven. France’s Aurélie Muller and Britain’s Jack Burnell today claimed victories over 10km at the World Cup in Abu Dhabi at their first marathons since an Olympic Games in Rio last August that ended in heartache, anger and a tidal waves of other feelings, including the urge to quit swimming in the wake of finishing in the Olympic medals only to be denied by questionable judging decisions.
