“I know you councillors think I should take to the spectators’ bench. And I will, I promise, it has not escaped me that a man of my age is past his best. Can phelps get back to sub-51 100 fly shape? Very possible.

Are there any active swimmers who have ever gone sub-51? No.

Craig Lord

… yes… and 3 years is a long time …

Paul

Very amusing, if a touch contrived 😉 Just working my way through Bring up the bodies now as it happens.

Yes, makes complete sense for him to focus on the sprints. 100 fly, 100 free and 100 back. In fact I can’t really see any other comeback scenario.

All I want to tell Phelps is to please stop playing mind games. He has too many fans who deserve the truth. Either get in the pool or just zip it up.

Cate

Lane Four: Where did you get the idea that he is playing mind games? He hasn’t said anything. It is everyone else (the media) that keeps asking and asking and asking AD NAUSEUM. The only thing he said after the Olympics is that he was done. Now he is in the testing pool, which means he may be having second thoughts now. SO WHAT? What do his fans deserve exactly? He has not committed a crime. A lot of people need to get a grip and get a life.

Lane Four

Cate, yes he has. Haven’t you read ALL of the interviews? By the way, you are a little hostile. Get a life? Seriously? Who made you the judge and jury of someone’s OPINION and thoughts????? YOU get a grip and lay off the nasty juice and let people express an opinion without jumping down their throat.
