Coughlin’s Focus Shifted to Sprint Events

Natalie Coughlin won’t be swimming the backstroke or butterfly at the United States National Championships as her focus has shifted to the sprint-freestyle events. If she can find success in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle, it would give the United States a big boost.

Natalie is a superstar. U’ve got to love her.. I’m sure she has a 24.5 50free in her and she’ll be able to go 54low to 53 high in the 100free for a relay spot at least…

I hope so much to see her in an individual event. She must have a little bit Morozov-like technique in order to fight with those women that are a head taller than she is. Swimming on the wave, not behind it.

Did you read her book, written with Michael Silver? I think it is one of the best books written by a swimming star, very interesting. I liked very much too the book of Dara Torres (age is just a number). I hope the best for Natalie..
