Technically speaking, Bronte Campbell will not now be defeding her World 50m freestyle crown. On 24.56 for the win 0.03sec ahead of sister Cate on the last day of nationals and trials in Brisbane the 22-year-old was 0.04sec shy of the cut for Budapest world titles set by selectors. Campbell the Younger is already on the team, though: they’ll be a clause to get her to her blocks
