Britain Rebrands Its Bath & Loughborough Centres

After closing down excellence centres in Swansea and Stockport, British Swimming has rebranded the surviving Intensive Training Centres at Bath and Loughborough as British Gas GBR National Centres for Swimming; Dave McNulty, supported by assistant coach Graeme Antwhistle, will continue to be the head coach at Bath, while Kevin Renshaw will continue as head coach at Loughborough working with national sprint coach James Gibson. Loughborough will appoint a graduate assistant coach in the new year

Not so sure this is great news, we plough everything into two centres who have had millions (pounds sterling) thrown at them only to come up with one silver and one bronze over 3 Olympic cycles
Stockport produces one silver and two bronzes over the same period and theyre binned….!?

Mind you, British Swimming has the one of the worst performance related CEO’s of the Olympic sports so why expect any different
