Olympic 100m butterfly Sarah Sjostrom stole the show with a dominant 56.20 victory on the first day of action at the Monaco round of the Mare Nostrum Tour. Out in 26.24 and home in 29.96 in a race that witnessed only one other sub-27 first lap and sub-31sec return, Sjostrom laid down the 11th swiftest effort of a career topped by the 55.48 she swam for a world record that also made her the first Swedish woman to claim Olympic gold in the pool
